They celebrated their annual 'Flour War.' The combatants throw a lot of
dyed flour at each other and make lots of noise. The flour power
festivities are a part of Clean Monday, an Orthodox Christian holiday.
It marks the end of carnival season and the beginning of Lent.

They pelt each other with bags of dyed flour on the main street down to Galaxidi's old harbour.

The town is situated 120 miles west of Athens and only has around 1700 inhabitants but was once an important trading port
